Symptom: due to traffic accidents, resulting in steering wheel balloon was detonated. After replacing the steering wheel airbag, coil spring and airbag control unit and clearing the fault code, turn on the ignition switch and airbag control unit (Figure) to check the airbag warning light after the system self-test, indicating that the airbag system is faulty.
     Check the analysis: connection fault diagnosis instrument V.A.G1551 query fault code: 00588 - airbag detonator N95 resistance is too large. As the steering wheel airbags, coil springs and control units are new pieces, for the time being without doubt there are failures. Then the wiring harness is not replaced, the fault point is likely to come out of the wiring harness or plug, so we decided to check the plug and harness. When the control unit plug is unplugged, it is found that there are some glues attached to the harness connector, and that the transparent socket is attached to the control unit socket. It appears that the problem should be.
     Troubleshooting: After the glue on the plug is cleaned and the fault code is cleared, the ignition switch is turned on and the control unit is turned off after the self-test.
